The library of a university is always of special symbolic significance. In the history of one hundred years, the library of Harbin Institute of Technology has been fulfilling its responsibilities firmly and realizing modernization step by step.

A Campus library was built in 1995, and began to carry out overall transformation in 2018, upgrading from space to function.

The new A Campus library uses the most advanced digital technology, through waterfall screen, space capsule, light and video reading, audio-visual pad, reading booth, AI robot, mobile terminal and other high-tech intelligent platforms, to change the traditional reading mode, create a full touch audio-visual reading learning space, while adding 3D experience space, micro class recording and broadcasting room, holographic laser theater, decompression experience room, etc.

The Bokan intelligent reading space, located on the second floor of the library, uses the most cutting-edge digital technology to display the traditional reading mode through waterfall screen, space capsule, light and shadow reading, audio-visual pad, reading booth, AI robot, mobile terminal and other high-tech intelligent platforms to create a full touch audio-visual reading and learning space.

The new A Campus libraryprovides teachers and students with more intelligent, efficient and convenient services, and make readers know and love the library better and participate in library activities.

On the fourth floor of the library, decompression experience room, new laser theater, micro class recording and broadcasting room and 3D experience space are added.

The decompression experience room is equipped with four sets of psychological sand tables and corresponding various sand table teaching aids, and two sets of psychological decompression music chairs. The system has its own video of hypnotic swing clock, relaxation training teaching video and classic vertigo video.

Holographic laser cinema provides teachers and students with cinema level appreciation space for Chinese and foreign classic films, provides strong support for learning foreign languages, and the cinema can also be directly connected with the library digital resource library.

The micro course recording and broadcasting room can realize the functions of live recording, live broadcasting, guiding, storage, switching, coding, etc.

The library of HIT gives full play to the advantages of information resources. While serving the scientific research work of our university, the library also provides powerful information service support for the scientific research work of other universities and the development of regional economy.

In March 2019, Harbin Institute of Technology Intellectual Property Information Service Center became the first batch of national intellectual property information service center.

In the construction of campus culture, in order to improve the literature and art cultivation of students, and make the library become the spiritual and cultural home of students, the library creates the brand of reading promotion of “shuxiangyuan”, carries out various reading promotion activities, and makes reading become the help of students to become talents.
