In this mid-summer, we have built a dream for 100 years. On June 7th, 2020, Harbin Institute of Technology took the theme of “A century of strict standards, a century to be a new world-class university”, to hold a series of offline activities, including commemorative conference, commemorative stamp issuance, the foundation of the Sino-Russian joint campus, the application of space-backed exclusive items, and thousands of racks UAV formation flight performance. We used multi-platform 15 hours of uninterrupted live of "cloud celebration" on the all-media, reviewing the course of running HIT, summarizing experience, displaying image, gathering strength, and planning for future development.

On the day of June 7, Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, State President, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, sent a letter to congratulate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Harbin Institute of Technology, and extended warm congratulations and sincere greetings to the faculty and alumni of the university.

On the eve of the 100th birthday of the school, Sun Chunlan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, and Liu He, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, expressed their concern to the school. Zhang Chunxian, vice chairman of the 13th National People's Congress Standing Committee, Ji Bingxuan, vice chairman of the 13th National People's Congress Standing Committee, and Wang Yong, the State Councilor, specially expressed congratulations by letter. Comrades Li Changchun, Zhang Gaoli, Wang Zhaoguo, Song Jian, and Li Ji’nai also sent congratulations by telegram and other means.

With the support of leaders at all levels, friends from all walks of life, and alumni at home and abroad, as well as the joint efforts from HIT faculty, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Harbin Institute of Technology “School Day” activity was a complete success. Here, I would like to extend the most sincere thanks and the highest respect to you! Thanks to all levels of government departments, relevant units of provinces and cities, friendly institutions at home and abroad, other domestic universities and units, and friends from all walks of life for their active participation and full support; thanks to the alumni at home and abroad for their consistent love and dedication to the Alma Mater; thanks to all the faculty of HIT for their enthusiastic participation and sincere dedication.

We will pay respects to the inheritance of a century of strict standards and open the new century to build a world-class university
