HIT wins eleven awards for self-made experimental equipment

Organized by?the?Secretary of The Chinese Society of High Education,?the?Lab Construction Guide Board for High Education Institution in?the?Ministry of Education,?the?Teaching Experiments Board for High Education Institution in Ministry of Education,?theNational?Experimental Education Exhibition Center and the Chinese?Administration?of Experiments Group in?The Chinese Society of High Education, the 3rd?High Education Institution Self-made Experimental Equipment?Evaluation and Exhibition of Excellent Products was held in Chengdu from November?9-11. Eleven?works?from HIT?participated?in the exhibition and won awards, the number of?awards received?is the?highest?among?allChinese?universities?participating.

The two works that received first?place?awards?were,?“Slide bearing test-bed”?from the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of?Mechanics?Engineering in?the?School ofMechatronic?Engineering, and the,?“Compression rod stability comprehensive test device”?from the?National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center?of Force?in?the School of Astronautics. The two works?which?won second?place?prizes?were,“Research on the experimental device of fluorescent lamp circuit parameter measurement and control characteristics”?from the?National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center?of Electricity?and?Electronics in the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation,?and the,?“The building envelope thermal performance test experimental device”?from the Nation VirtualSimulation?Experiment?Teaching Center?in the School of Municipal and?Environmental?Engineering. Seven works were?awarded thirdplace?prizes.?They were?“Mechanical system scheme and structure analysis of experimental device,”?“3D Map Creation Robot,”“Expandable Mechanical?Practical?Teaching and?Real?Time?DisplaySystem,”?all?from?the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation,?and?“Multifunctional electrostatic bonding apparatus,” “High frequency photoconductive decay method of minority carrierlifetime tester,” and,?”The MOS structure of high frequency C-V characteristics test system” all from the School of Astronauticsand?“Modular multifunctional modern drive control experimental device”?from?the?School of?Mechatronic?Engineering.

These eleven awarded works showcased?the achievement of self-made experimental equipment?at?HIT.?These?examples ofself-made experimental?equipment?are close to the reality of education, the contents in the experiments?were in?accord?withscientific?principles. They?were creatively?and?delicately?designedto?enhance?interest in studying and thinking, they?were?beneficialfor students?to be involved, interact and?to facilitatecommunication. These projects?also?allowed?fulfillment of theneed for understanding,?creation?and synthesis?within experiment education and student manipulative ability.?These designs werevery?beneficial?for pushing forward quality education and cultivating?creativity and?practical?ability. Those works?whichparticipated?in the?competition?were highly approved by the judges.

Such?self-made education equipment?has been a?tradition and characteristic?of HIT education?for?many years.?This?equipment not only showed?the transfer and development from knowledge to reality, but also provided?a platform for student innovation. Moreover,?self-made education equipment?was?well commendedfrom other universities?and has promoted?HIT’s influence nationwide.

A total of?225 works?participated?in the evaluation and exhibition,?a record?in?the number of participants?and quality?of the work.?At?the?exhibition, many delegations came to HIT’slocation and asked?about the exhibition works, the Head of?theDepartment of Experiments of the Department of High Educationwithin the?Ministry of?Education?of the People’s?Republic?of China, LI Ping,?came to?the?HIT?exhibition?location and made comments.
